This status-degreedays.net site exists to let users of Degree Days.net (particularly users of the Degree Days.net API) know about any problems that may arise with the service.
If there’s a problem that looks likely to last more than a few minutes, we’ll aim to post updates here so that:
- You will know that we’re on the case.
- We can let you know about any temporary workarounds that you might be able to implement.
- We can let you know when the problem is fixed.
status-degreedays.net is hosted independently from the main Degree Days.net services (website and API). Even the DNS name servers are different (note that status-degreedays.net is a different domain to degreedays.net). So this site should not be affected by any Degree Days.net outages that may arise.
For API users please note that the system is designed such that you should expect to receive ServiceTemporarilyDown failures from time to time. Most such failures are caused by short-term blips such as a broken connection between our calculation servers and our database servers or Weather Underground’s system. If/when you get a ServiceTemporarilyDown failure, just try the request again in a little while. We wouldn’t report failures like that here unless they’re happening with an abnormally high frequency (indicating an underlying problem that needs to be fixed).
