The server hosting our www.degreedays.net website has been having some problems since around 16:15 UTC today (2012-11-02). Our hosting company is currently working on the server infrastructure, and we’re hoping for a pretty quick recovery.
The API is unaffected by this and is operating completely as usual.
UPDATE 18:00 UTC – Unfortunately these server problems are going on longer than we were hoping. Our hosting company is dealing with some major issues thanks to Hurricane Sandy, and so it seems everything is happening slower than would be ideal… As mentioned before, the API is unaffected as it is hosted separately from the website. (It is also hosted concurrently in multiple data centres to reduce the chances of it being affected by a problem like this.) Anyway, our hosting company is on the case and making progress, so we’re still hoping it won’t be too long before the website is up and running again.
UPDATE 18:55 UTC – Finally the website is back up and running again. It seems the server was under a DOS attack no less! Apologies for any inconvenience.
